“Private Property” was probably never meant to live in 1960 American Cinema. Leslie Stevens would later go on to create The Outer Limits, so what’s up with the direction? Corey Allen is the cock of the walk as the lead creep that wants our lead lady. However, he also seems to have a boner for Warren Oates. The film plays short, but there is enough sexual lingering to pack a decade. Everyone wants each other and nobody has any qualms about getting violent over it.

Kate Manx would kill herself a few years after the film was released and the rest of the cast didn’t bring it up a ton. So, why did it disappear for over 50 years? Well, it’s a testament to the fluid nature of media in this country. When major releases choke the venues that allow the mainstream to find entertainment, the wide libraries of American and International film gets choked out. This isn’t going to be a film for everyone, but that’s why you should try to find it. Cinelicious Pics has done amazing work by digging this one out for us all to enjoy.
