Amon Tobin shares the exciting journey behind this project, revealing, “Towards the end of last year, we opened up the stems on my Discord for anyone to remix ‘Metropole.’ The response was overwhelming, with over 60 reinterpretations submitted by both professionals and amateurs. The breadth of talent was so impressive that we felt compelled to officially release a selection of these mixes.”

Volume 1 is a testament to the diverse array of creative visions inspired by “Metropole.” The compilation kicks off with The Bright Dark’s exuberant remix, setting the stage for a sonic adventure that includes Dontmesswithjuan’s haunting lullaby and Veilgaze’s minimalist, twisted interpretation. The album creates a space where the surreal coexists with the celebratory.

Contributions from Mud Kisser (Thys from Noisia) offer a brooding, Morricone-esque soundscape, while Rex Kalibur introduces a tense, discordant atmosphere, challenging the beats to break free. The album is further enriched by two unique and vibrant mixes from hellomynameisjoe, transforming “Metropole” into an alt-rock anthem, alongside Herzihelmut’s psychedelic rendition and Fearful’s captivating drum and bass version.
