“Femme”: A Riveting Tale of Revenge and Identity, Going Wide April 5th

The gripping narrative of “Femme,” starring Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and George MacKay, marks a powerful directorial debut for the talented duo Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon Ping. Currently captivating audiences in New York, the film is set to enchant viewers in Los Angeles and Chicago starting this Friday, with a nationwide expansion planned for April 5th.

The Story of “Femme”

In the heart of London’s vibrant drag scene, Aphrodite Banks, portrayed by Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (known for “Candyman”), shines as a celebrated drag artist. However, his life takes a dark turn when, after a show one night, he becomes the victim of a brutal hate crime led by an assailant (played by George MacKay of “1917” fame) and his gang. Though Jules recovers physically, the assault leaves deep emotional scars, causing him to retreat from the world.

The plot thickens months later when, by a twist of fate, Jules encounters his attacker in a gay sauna. Here, stripped of his drag persona and in the anonymity of a towel, Jules seizes the opportunity to confront his assailant, embarking on an intricate plan for revenge against the closeted Preston. What unfolds is a complex exploration of identity, trauma, and retribution, set against the backdrop of London’s electric nightlife.
