No Escape should've just been about Pierce Brosnan.
“No Escape” is about Owen Wilson moving his family to Southeast Asia. A reason is given, but I spent my time wondering why Lake Bell was going along with the matter. While traveling to their new home, Wilson meets Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan plays a wild foreign type who goes on dark adventures in foreign hotspots. For some reason, he doesn’t wear a tuxedo and appears to be adverse to gadgets. But, you can trust him.
Naturally, rebels attack the city and Owen Wilson has to protect his kids. Pierce Brosnan shows up as a NPC that aids our heroes, but all he does is remind the audience that the film should be about him. I love Post Bond Brosnan, but the guy needs to make a clean break from these roles. He’s starting to turn into Lazenby during the late 70s/early 80s. Move on, pal.
The Blu-Ray comes with a commentary, deleted scenes and a behind-the-scenes gallery as the special features. The A/V Quality is sharp for an action drama. The 1080p transfer plays with light levels very well in a fast moving environment. The DTS-HD 5.1 master audio track really pops during the heavy action. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to the curious.
