TAKE ME TO THE RIVER

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]”Take Me To The River” is a fun documentary showing the cross generational appeal of the Memphis music scene. Exploring the Mississippi Delta and the history of its music produces something spectacular. I’m not saying that this documentary was ever going to be “The Last Waltz” of the South. However, the potential is there for the guys from Stax, Sun and beyond to work with the up and comers.

I get the Dirty South people showing up, but what about having Terrence Howard. I get that the guy was in “Hustle and Flow”, but I never quite understood what he was doing there. Snoop Dogg had a great deal of reverence for what was going and he was active in exploring the musical history of the area. Maybe I’m just being excessively picky. The Blu-Ray comes with a historic interview, unseen session video and musical featurette as the special features.
