“Downton Abbey” returns with its sixth and final season. The focus of the season is how the rising costs of the Abbey are threatening to move the staff and family out of it. The Crowley sisters work with their parents to help keep things normal, but the staff is seemingly moving on. Maggie Smith doesn’t get enough screen time for my tastes, but I enjoyed it. Also, I think Cinderella showed up in the finale.
Jim Carter runs away with the show this year, as he finally finds real love. As the Depression approaches, you find yourself hoping that he’ll finally find a chance outside of the Abbey. Honestly, it makes sense for the show to end this way. This era in British aristocracy doesn’t really exist in the modern era. The Blu-Ray comes with over thirty minutes of featurettes.
