BALLERS: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON REVIEWED

“Ballers” enters its second season still not being able to shake that “Entourage” Sports vibe. Dwayne Johnson does amazing work as the financial manager trying to keep NFL rookies from falling apart. However, Andy Garcia and Rob Corddry still seem like having side adventures that almost overshadow the episodes. If you ever wondered what Jerry Maguire would play like as a TV series, then this is your answer. Cameron Crowe wouldn’t be this youthful, but the sentiment remains the same. So, should you watch it?

I know a lot of non sports fans that hate the show. As someone who follows NFL goings-on, I have to say that there’s nothing here that needs football. It’s more of the Entourage mold of star-f**king rather than saying something about the sport. If you want an HBO show that cared about football, then pick up an old DVD copy of “1st and 10”. That show was comedic gold.
