Planes Trains and Automobiles have been reissued so many times on Blu-ray that I’ve been eagerly awaiting for its 4K UHD debut. What makes it crazier is that we’re going to see some of the cut footage for the first time ever. Planes Trains and Automobiles is one of the most famously cut to bits films of the 1980s. I don’t blame Paramount, as you can’t dump a nearly four hour movie on Thanksgiving audiences unless it has Avengers or Hobbits in it.
All of the bonus content is on the second disc is legacy material from the past releases. They made a big deal out of Dylan Baker’s screentest on the disc, but I don’t remember it. Oh well, I’ll still love it.
