Nowhere Special stars James Norton (known for Bob Marley: One Love, Happy Valley, and Little Women) as John, a 35-year-old window cleaner who has devoted his life to raising his 4-year-old son, Michael, after the boy’s mother left them shortly after his birth. When John receives a terminal diagnosis with only a few months left to live, he embarks on a heart-wrenching journey to find the perfect family to adopt Michael, determined to protect him from the harsh reality of the situation.
As John faces the impossible task of choosing a new family for Michael, he reluctantly accepts the help of a young social worker. This assistance opens him up to solutions he would have never considered. Along the way, John grapples with his anger at the unfairness of his fate, the necessity of sharing the truth with his son, and ultimately, the importance of following Michael’s instincts in making the most crucial decision of their lives.
