Superhero fans, get ready for more high-flying action as Prime Video unveiled the trailer for Invincible Season 2 at New York Comic Con (NYCC). The acclaimed adult animated series, from Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment, promises another thrilling installment.
The eight-episode second season drops its first half on November 3, 2022, with new episodes weekly. After a mid-season break, the remaining episodes will premiere in early 2024. Invincible earned a “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes for its debut season.
At the NYCC panel, fans got exclusive insights from executive producer Kirkman and co-showrunner Simon Racioppa. The duo also presented an exclusive clip that teased the show’s signature blend of superhero action and coming-of-age drama.
Adapted from the comic by Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, Invincible follows Mark Grayson. After discovering his father Nolan is the world’s most formidable superhero, Mark develops powers of his own. But betrayal and turmoil ensue.
Now 18, Mark remains haunted by his father’s turn in season 1. As he tries to rebuild his life, new threats arise that will test his abilities and morals. Mark worries he’ll succumb to the same dark impulses as Nolan without even realizing it.
Steven Yeun leads the cast as Mark, alongside Sandra Oh, J.K. Simmons, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, and Zazie Beetz. The impressive team of executive producers includes Kirkman, David Alpert, Catherine Winder, Racioppa, and others.
