“Hickok” is an attempt to try and “Tombstone” the legend of Will Bill Hickok. Fans of Deadwood will remember that Hickok’s life doesn’t end well, so this is just one step in the long line of his life. If you’re a fan of the similar style Westerns that Cinedigm has been releasing for the last few years, this will be right up your alley. In terms of bowing onto 4K, I have to say that the transfer was shakier than I expect for 4K. Long shots really pop, but everything shot inside felt slightly hazy. I dug the DTS-HD track, but that felt like it could’ve been amp’d up for a 4K bow. I’d still recommend the movie.SPECIAL FEATURES
