Breaking Glass Pictures is excited to announce the release of the religious thriller, RAQUEL 1:1, directed by Mariana Bastos (Something Like That). The film follows Raquel, a young teenager who moves with her father to a small town in search of a fresh start. However, during her first days there, she experiences a mysterious event that leads her to believe she has been given an important mission related to the Bible.
As Raquel delves deeper into her spirituality and relives the pain of past traumas, she finds support and resentment from different people. With the help of her new friends, a group of evangelical girls from the local church, Raquel tries to balance herself in a disturbing spiral of faith, reason, and madness.
RAQUEL 1:1 premiered at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival and was also shown at the São Paulo International Film Festival, MOTELX – Lisbon International Horror Film Festival, and North Bend Film Festival. The film stars Valentina Herszage as Raquel, alongside Priscila Bittencourt, Emílio de Mello, and Ravel Andrade.
The film provides an intriguing exploration of the complexities of faith and spirituality, making it a must-watch for anyone interested in these themes.
