Mark your calendars punk rock fans – on August 21st, Shout! TV presents a special streaming event of the acclaimed Joe Strummer documentary The Future is Unwritten in honor of the late Clash frontman’s birthday.
Directed by Julien Temple, this candid rock-doc chronicles Strummer’s life and career via archival footage, interviews with friends and collaborators, and insights from Strummer himself.
It traces his creative journey from the 101ers to the Clash to the Mescaleros, painting an intimate portrait of the singer-songwriter’s musical and personal evolution. Appearances by Mick Jones, Bono, Flea, Martin Scorcese and more round out the film.
On August 21st, The Future is Unwritten will stream on Shout! TV at 8pm EST/5pm PST, followed by an encore presentation. The film can also be viewed on Shout! TV’s app and through digital platforms like Pluto TV, Tubi, Amazon Freevee and more.
