& Barnes Releases Shit Happens Album Blending Nostalgia and Humor, Featuring Lost Graves Co-Founder Bill Mumy

Comedy music project & Barnes has announced the new album Shit Happens, available now. Led by Bill Mumy of cult duo Barnes & Barnes, the release mixes humor and nostalgia for a dose of irreverent fun.

Shit Happens comes courtesy of the Lost in Space and Twilight Zone actor’s alter ego Art Barnes. It continues the legacy of Barnes & Barnes, known for 80s novelty hits like “Fish Heads.” Mumy is joined by animator John Cafiero, who produced an animated video for the first single.

The album features offbeat tracks like “Hip as a Bip,” “Too Late for Lunch,” and the title song. With his tongue-in-cheek lyrics, Mumy taps into the Barnes & Barnes spirit of absurdity. The collection is dedicated to Mumy’s late partner Robert Haimer, who originally performed as Artie Barnes.

Shit Happens is available on limited edition vinyl, CD, and across digital platforms via Demented Punk Records. An exclusive autographed vinyl version is also available directly from the label’s store.

The packaging showcases artwork from underground illustrator Stephen Blickenstaff. Along with the animated video, the visuals bring the zany & Barnes world to life.

As a musician, actor, and writer, Bill Mumy has worked with an impressive array of artists while cultivating a singular comedic voice. Alongside Barnes & Barnes, he’s collaborated with “Weird Al” Yankovic, Steve Perry, and more.

Mumy’s acting career includes the classics Lost in Space, Babylon 5, and memorably twisted roles on The Twilight Zone. Even in his 70s, he continues his prolific creative output across mediums.

With its whimsical lyrics and retro sound, Shit Happens proves Mumy still has imagination to spare.

Relive the demented magic when & Barnes takes you down the rabbit hole of musical eccentricity.
