Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 is one of the few films I can still stand after millennials discovered it. When I was a teenage horror fan, I always passed on the Silent Night movies. Who cares about Killer Santa? Also, the only sequels I knew were this one and the entry with Mickey Rooney. I favored Part 5, because I thought Part 2 was cheap due to the recycled footage. That was my mistake.
Ricky is still the best. But, it’s not because of Garbage Day. This character works because he gets dropped into the previous film almost Special Edition style to try and make this world bigger. But, it doesn’t matter. This is just a film about trying to bigger than your predecessors. Santa Claus almost seems unnecessary in the grand scheme of things. Quite odd and I plan to revisit this title when we do a full series recap.
