“The Black Panthers” is a two hour long theatrical version of the documentary that is kinda staggering. The narrative focus to split discussion between former members, cops, journalists, detractors, FBI informants and supporters was interesting. I love it when a documentary isn’t scared to open up the spectrum to all voices. That being said, it almost feels like too much to stuff into two hours. More than anything, it’s a great opening sampler to what powered the party. The DVD comes with no special features.
