Bochco moves on.
“Hill Street Blues” ends with a desperate need to tie up issues for Buntz and Hunter. Hunter’s gun toting psychotics get put under investigation, while Buntz has to fight an attempted frame job. Ultimately, everything works out well and Franz gets the short lived Beverly Hills Buntz spin-off. Fun fact: the pilot was directed by Hal Ashby. That says a lot for where his career was in the late 1980s. The DVD comes with no special features, but I’d love to see Shout or FOX revisit the series on Blu-Ray.
