“Tap World” is a rather short documentary about how competitive tap dancing is taking over the world. While the film goes all over the world, nothing ever changes from Tap Dancing is amazing to Tap Dancing saved my life. But, that’s what you get when you weave 115 fan submissions into the main narrative. I feel like I’m watching two documentaries here and neither one really holds my attention.
I took some extra time to hunt down Tap Hunt and watch the short film that inspired most of what we see here. It’s not bad, but its focus is razor sharp when compared to this documentary. When the film only cracks 72 minutes, focus shouldn’t be an issue. But, I know that dance fans will want to watch this. The DVD comes with no special features.
