“Friendship Games” confuses me with the fact that there are humans. I get this is the third or fourth film in a series that allows for alternate universe tales. But, the push to have a High School element and human characters seems like a cash grab at preteens. But, I guess the bronies wanted this to happen. That being said, there’s not enough to differentiate the two worlds.
My Little Pony remains a franchise that I don’t get, but I’m not sure if that matters. Everything seems like a ploy to get your favorite characters onscreen. Everybody loves Twilight because she’s purple or something. I don’t get the deal with the orange one, but my daughter seems to like her. Once she can speak at a functioning human level, I’ll have to pick her brain.
The DVD comes with an audio commentary, sing-alongs, deleted scenes and animated shorts as the special features. The A/V Quality is strong for standard definition. The transfer is clear. Plus, the Dolby 5.1 track creates some nice sound design for the bigger events. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to fans.
