LITTLE BOY

[text_block_nav]”Little Boy” is a review that I’ve sat on for nearly three months. While I could’ve picked up easy hits ala my early coverage of the Kirk Cameron Christmas debacle, I decided to let this one slide. Why? It’s a film about about a young American boy praying for the Hiroshima/Nagasaki atomic blasts. The level of insanity on the screen is too much for one faith-based film to contain.

I’ll look past the inert racism, the bizarre iconography and the weird visual aesthetic. The film is about a child using the power of prayer to murder innocent people in exchange for his father’s life. Once I stopped laughing, I realized that I had just seen “Sophie’s Choice” as directed by John Waters. If you know me, you know that I predominantly cover home video. I’m holding back on my full mental salvo, as I wanted to cover this in-depth with image coverage for its home video bow.

The ball is in your court, PR people. I’m not sure who I know left at Universal Home Video, but let’s make it happen. You want to see this, the world want to see this. I promise that you won’t be disappointed. I’d break down the film further for the readers, but three months isn’t enough time to put my brain back together. Let’s aim for August to take a second assessment.[/text_block_nav]
