MOVEABLE FEAST: WITH FINE COOKING – SEASON 2

THE PLOT THUS FAR

Come along on a mouthwatering ride and catch the spirit of pop-up cooking events with Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking.

Emmy®-nominated for Outstanding Culinary Series and winner of both Telly and TASTE Awards, Moveable Feast with Fine Cooking is hosted by Pete Evans, Australia’s top celebrity chef. Follow Pete on a culinary journey across America as he teams up with the country’s most innovative chefs to source the finest regional ingredients and create a multicourse feast for friends.

In Season Two, learn cooking tips and techniques from our talented chefs, including Susan Feniger, Mary Sue Milliken, Donald Link, and Marco Canora, and how you can interpret their flavorful dishes in your own kitchen. Watch as diners sit down to enjoy these spectacular meals hosted in unique places, from a California avocado grove and southern plantation to a lakeside retreat and bustling kitchen in New York’s Little Italy neighborhood. You’ll want a seat at the table!

Special Features include…

  • Printable recipes include Spiced Chicken with Papaya-Mango Salsa, Grated Carrot Salad with Raisins, Lamb Sausage Patties with Avocado Relish, Grilled Pork loin with Peaches, Coffee Creme Brulée, and many more!

WHAT WE THOUGHT

“Moveable Feast” returns for a second season and the recipes are so much better. They tend to play a little sweeter than I like, but I trust Pete Evans’ taste and demeanor. While he pales in comparison to American celebrity chefs, I hope that he sticks around for awhile. Thankfully, Evans has brought in other talented chefs to help pad out his presentation.

Australia doesn’t get much of a reputation for cuisine anymore. I like what I see of Pete Evans. Evans seems to understand what he’s doing and he has a way with Chefs. It’s just that I need more time to cozy up to the guy. Life is hard when you’re a foodie.

The DVD comes with printable recipes as the special features. The A/V Quality is on par for most recent standard definition PBS releases. The transfer isn’t amazing, but it works. The same goes for the Dolby 2.0 audio track. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase.
