WHAT WE THOUGHT
“Moveable Feast” returns for a second season and the recipes are so much better. They tend to play a little sweeter than I like, but I trust Pete Evans’ taste and demeanor. While he pales in comparison to American celebrity chefs, I hope that he sticks around for awhile. Thankfully, Evans has brought in other talented chefs to help pad out his presentation.
Australia doesn’t get much of a reputation for cuisine anymore. I like what I see of Pete Evans. Evans seems to understand what he’s doing and he has a way with Chefs. It’s just that I need more time to cozy up to the guy. Life is hard when you’re a foodie.
The DVD comes with printable recipes as the special features. The A/V Quality is on par for most recent standard definition PBS releases. The transfer isn’t amazing, but it works. The same goes for the Dolby 2.0 audio track. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase.
