Showdown looks like every third movie on a video store shelf when I was 13. What I didn’t know is that it’s a High School bully film where the janitor teaches a kid to defend himself. Christine Taylor and Billy Blanks shows up in this oddity. I guess I missed it the first time around when I spent my days watching Rad and The Ewok Adventure. But, kids are weird like that.
I’m really enjoying the special features and odd film selection that the MVD Rewind Collection is offering up. Way too often, the niche releasing houses play it safe. Keep it weird, MVD. Keep it weird.
