HOWARD LOVECRAFT AND THE FROZEN KINGDOM

HOWARD LOVECRAFT AND THE FROZEN KINGDOM REVIEWED

“Howard Lovecraft and The Frozen Kingdom” is a kid movie about a young Lovecraft. A young Lovecraft going on an adventure with heavy Lewis overtones. The horror literary nerd in me is perplexed. This is an author who once argued that certain races were hatched from eggs. Seriously, people. Google Lovecraft race eggs. Creepy New England authors have always had issues with that sort of thing.

Back to the film, it’s a fun way to introduce kids to Cthulhu and the Lovecraftian myths. The film is heavily tinged blue and I’m not sure if I understand the choice. That being said, the film nails something that I would’ve loved as a child. Giant monsters, crazy kids and high adventure populated with amazing voice acting. My daughter loved it and I’m sure it’ll be a hit with your kids.
