Pixar Short Films Collection: Volume 3

The Pixar Short Films Collection has returned with Volume 3. It’s been years since the last volume and I guess it took Pixar awhile to build up a backlog. Some of these play similar the older cartoons, while others made the most of their theatrical exhibitions. Hell, Sanjay’s Super Team still doesn’t look as good to me as it did on a 4 story screen all those years ago. So, what does that mean for you? Will you enjoy these shorts at home?

Playing shorter than 90 minutes, it’s not meant to babysit your kids. However, they will be free to pick and choose among  their favorites. The adults will stick with the one-shot shorts, while I expect the Cars and Toy Story shorts to get a ton of play. I’ve been watching Piper daily since the disc arrived at AV Central. The A/V Quality is quite similar to their past releases on their partner features. However, it’s a treat to have them in a one viewing environment.

Make sure to check out the bonus mini-movies and commentaries on the more recent shorts. Show the powers that be that we care about special features even on the shorter content. It’s worth the effort.

Pixar Short Films Collection Vol. 3 hits Digital and Blu-ray this week.
