ZOMBIE 3 REVIEWED
“Zombie 3” works off the principle that plagued the O’Bannon Living Dead movie series. Basically, don’t ever cremate the living dead. The virus in their system will get into the air and then rain back down onto a community. So, more corpses will arise and more people will become flesh buffets. I enjoy that Severin saw to include the CD soundtrack with both Zombie 3 and Zombie 4. This is one of those releases where I think I appreciated the special features more than the film.
Listening to foreign casts talk about what works in productions like this and what doesn’t is fascinating. Especially, when you have a goremeister having to hand off the reins to a guy of Mattei’s reputation. I wouldn’t recommend breaking this release out on horror loving kids. Young American horror fans almost need to approach world horror in staggered tiers. Given the nature of this series and how there’s really no effort to them, it just hits you in the ribs.
I also wish the commentary would’ve been a little more informative. Oh well, we still have that astonishing interview with Mattei. That guy is from Mars.
