LIGHTS REVIEWED
“Lights” uses found footage to tell a tale of true crime by way of alien abduction. While the premise is neat, there’s nothing here that absolutely floors me. But, I’m intrigued enough to keep revisiting it. The low budget of the production is evident in how the movie is framed by everything that the abductee shot. It’s just that after awhile, it gets old pouring through handheld camera footage and other tech means. Other films have been able to make it work, but that always requires bending the rules of found footage.
If anything like that sounds amazing to you, then this film is up your alley. It’s on VOD already, but I don’t know of release plans past that point. Still, you should support indie cinema and check it out.
