SYNCHRONICITY

SYNCHRONICITY REVIEWED

“Synchronicity” is an insanely interesting premise. It’s just a shame that the film doesn’t work as a narrative. Playing in the same field of Shane Carruth, but having the deft hand of a college film…the end result is a mixed bag. It’s interesting to see the same tale told from two different perspectives. Time travel somehow works into it in a way that still feels like a Carruth lift. That being said, it lacks the imagination.

That’s the problem when you micro manage Science Fiction. Luckily, the cast is able to balance out the mumbo jumbo. But, it’s still mumbo jumbo that fails to connect to an audience on a consistent basis. Film is a visual medium and there needed to be some punch-up. This is a film that I’ll revisit in a few months to see if it improves for me. That being said, I’m not sure if it’s going to happen.
