LOVE IS A VERB REVIEWED
“Love is a Verb” is a documentary dedicated to Muslims inspired by the teachings of Fethullah Gulen. For a documentary that strikes under an hour long, it covers so much ground. While issues of possible derision are discussed, they are quickly brushed off in favor of spreading the message of Gulen. It’s great to see a counterpoint to the rise of Islamophobia, but this felt more like an extended commercial than a documentary. I’d normally say such a narrative is a fine line, but it isn’t. A little bit of subjectivity goes a long way.
