“Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell” is about the lowly Gary and his attempts to rise the corporate ladder in Hell. He believes that if he captures enough souls, it’ll keep his face out of the urinal. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case. Relying on various helpers, Gary wants to entice Satan into treating him as a higher level demon. But, Satan isn’t having it.
Hell as a corporate wasteland is an old idea. Usually reserved for comic strips or one-offs, the Hell of this series runs a bit thin even for the 66 minutes that make up the first season. Apparently, the show is coming back for a second season this weekend. I look forward to seeing where it can go next. Claude can only be an ass to Gary for so long.
The DVD comes with deleted scenes, promos, commentaries, featurette, original short and screen tests as the special features. I love how Adult Swim will load down everything with bonus material. The transfer is standard definition and doesn’t quite match up to the HD broadcast. However, I find the Dolby track to match up to broadcast quality. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to fans.
