Cinderella: Signature Edition [Review]

Cinderella took two years to finish. As Disney came out of the financial drain of World War II, it seemed like it was going to take forever to get back to normal. Plus, Europe was just now coming back from the War and theaters were re-opening. It was time to make a kid movie for the entire world to enjoy. So, Disney leaned hard on the Brothers Grimm to make something with global reach.

The critical appeal wasn’t unexpected. However, no one expected it to be such a box office smash. Now, the film is regarded as the capstone on Disney’s Golden Era. The 1950s were going to get wilder, wider and reach much deeper as the Disney Empire expanded. The recent Disney Signature Edition was put together to honor the film’s recent induction into the National Film Registry.
