A New Direction for Greg Lisher
While Greg Lisher has long been a familiar face in the California alternative and indie rock scene, Underwater Detection Method marks a significant shift in his musical style. This isn’t Lisher’s first solo project, but fans of Camper Van Beethoven and Monks of Doom might be surprised by the new direction. Although some tracks feature guitars, the album primarily showcases keyboards, creating a fresh sound that feels like discovering a new artist.

After his 2020 release, Songs from the Imperial Garden, a collection of acoustic instrumental tracks, Lisher decided it was time to explore uncharted musical territory.
