This year marks the 25th anniversary of Martin Scorsese’s intense and powerful film, Bringing Out the Dead. Paramount Home Entertainment is commemorating this milestone by releasing a newly remastered edition of the film for the first time on 4K Ultra HD™ and Blu-ray™ on September 17, 2024.

Praised by critics, Bringing Out the Dead has been described as “an ecstatic sensory experience” by the San Francisco Examiner, “intense, volatile” by the New York Times, and “savage and sorrowing” by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The film originally premiered on October 22, 1999, marking the fourth collaboration between Scorsese and screenwriter Paul Schrader, known for their work on Taxi Driver and Raging Bull. Nicolas Cage delivers a gripping performance as Frank Pierce, a Manhattan paramedic struggling to maintain his sanity over three tumultuous nights. The stellar cast also includes Patricia Arquette, John Goodman, Ving Rhames, and Tom Sizemore.

Newly Remastered Release

The remastered edition has been meticulously restored from the original camera negative and reviewed by Scorsese, cinematographer Robert Richardson, and editor Thelma Schoonmaker. As part of the Paramount Presents line, this must-own two-disc set includes the film on 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Atmos® and on Blu-ray. Additionally, it offers a plethora of new bonus content and access to a digital copy of the film.
