MVD Entertainment and AntiCurrent Productions have joined forces to bring a dark, comedic thriller to the screen, following successful negotiations by Eric D. Wilkinson and producer Liv Roush. “Wrong Reasons” boasts a stellar cast and crew, including director Josh Roush making his narrative feature debut and Liv Roush in her acting debut. The film also benefits from the support of Executive Producer Kevin Smith and an all-star cast, featuring James Parks, Ralph Garman, Teresa Ruiz, David Koechner, Daniel Roebuck, Kevin Smith, and Keith Coogan.
The plot revolves around a masked man with unclear motives kidnapping a drug-addicted punk rock singer, which sparks a police investigation and media frenzy. The film’s killer punk rock soundtrack features music from Tim Armstrong, L7, Black Flag, The Wipers, Channel 3, William Elliott Whitmore, The Unseen, Bi-Product, and more.
“Wrong Reasons” made its debut at Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle Film Festival in fall 2022, followed by a theatrical tour in North America and Australia during the first quarter of 2023. The tour included Q&A sessions with writer/director Josh Roush, who expressed his enthusiasm for the film as a representation of his lifelong skills and love of punk rock.
Producer and star Liv Roush echoed this sentiment, highlighting the refreshing experience of working with a smaller crew and a director unafraid to push boundaries. The film also received high praise from Executive Producer Kevin Smith, who credited it with inspiring his own indie filmmaking approach.
MVD Entertainment Group is eager to bring “Wrong Reasons” to a wider audience, with MVD Director of Acquisitions Eric D. Wilkinson sharing his excitement following the film’s Smodcastle Film Festival debut. The movie’s humor, message, and music captivated the audience, and MVD is thrilled to share this unique film on digital, VOD, and disc platforms.
