SUMMER OF FEAR REVIEWED
“Summer of Fear” is the only Wes Craven directed Young Adult lit adaptation movie. While that’s a mouthful, it’s quite the cinematic oddity. It’s weird calling it cinematic, because the movie was originally aired on TV. Anyways, Linda Blair’s parents die and now her cool cousin has to move in with her. But, cousin Rachel is a witch!
There are spooked horse scenes, Linda Blair looked charred and some awful late 70s hair. Wes Craven has directed far better, but it’s neat seeing the horror master flex his muscles with such odd material. I totally dig what’s being laid down in this movie, but I can understand how it might turn some off. Check it out, if you’re interested in campy horror.
