What is left to tell with this series?
“Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension” opens with quite the similar story. A young girl is haunted by paranormal activity and a family has to stop it. It wasn’t new when Craig T. Nelson fought it and it’s been ran into the ground recently. But, one can hope that the events of this film close the timeline and give audiences a reprieve. What’s so sad about it is that I could see a story that could’ve been saved by a few wise edits.
The entity causing the Paranormal Activity for the last few years has been officially realized. He’s closer than ever to stepping into our world, but he needs one more little girl to bring him to realization. Tying back to the third film and trying to set a stable chronology is a tall order. What’s surprising is that the film actually pulls it off. It’s just a shame that no one could possibly care about Toby or the threat he poses.
The Blu-Ray comes with a DVD, Digital HD copy, unrated cut, theatrical cut, alternate ending and lost footage as the special features. The A/V Quality is quite sharp for a recent film. The 1080p transfer really pops. However, I found the back channels in the DTS-HD 5.1 master audio to be muddy. Still, it’s worth a purchase to fans and a skip for others.
