Huevos is developing quite the underground following.
“Huevos” or “Little Rooster’s Egg-Cellent Adventure” is a kids’ film that makes zero sense. While it was a big hit in Mexico, the CG feast died a quick death in America. But, it picked up a bit of a following on the second tier theatrical circuit as stoners and movie snobs poured into theaters to poke fun at the film. It’s a movie about a rooster boxer that makes every possible film related boxing joke. But, don’t forget about the world building.
All animals and food on the farm are sentient. Whether it’s the talking bacon meeting with pigs or the eggs talking to chickens, this film makes zero sense. The sheer oddity and absence of rules creates a film that calls back to the early days of American animation. I can only hope that Lionsgate finds far odder foreign kiddie fare. The DVD comes with a featurette as the sole special feature.
