“Some Kind of Beautiful” is one of those films that seemingly started as a great idea. A possible comeback star vehicle for an aging Pierce Brosnan to play off a fun cast. Alba, Hayek and even McDowell give the former Bond a chance to portray a realistic family man. Then there comes the push to make everything relatable. Tack on a sitcom romantic plot to make people guffaw. By people, I mean the dead souls trapped in TV laugh tracks. The Blu-Ray comes with a featurette as the sole special feature.
