HALO: THE COMPLETE VIDEO COLLECTION REVIEWED
“Halo: The Complete Video Collection” is what amounts to commercial tie-ins for a video game series that I never enjoyed. While Bungie did a bang-up job on the story, I can’t quite get onboard with what’s going on here. Hell, Forward Unto Dawn was created to explain away the story problems that novice gamers would run into about initial playthrough. The rest of the movies are basically world-building exercises to entertain your 12 year old nephew.
While it might sound like I’m being negative, it’s because I am. There remains about 20 minutes of good story across 6 hours of material. Working as a mini-commentary on the games that spawned these videos, one has to wonder if the creative team is aware of the narrative short-comings. It’s not like it matters. You guys will still buy it.
