ELMO’S WORLD: ELMO EXPLORES! REVIEWED
Elmo’s World: Elmo Explores! brings two hours of little muppet-centric material to DVD. Some of the material even seems to be from the recent HBO run. For some reason, I can’t get my daughter to watch the show on Saturday mornings. However, she will always plant her butt to watch a DVD. I appreciate the kid’s fondness for physical media. However, would it hurt her to put the DVR to use?
I’m loving that Shout Factory is handling the Sesame Street releases now. You know that you’ve been covering releases for ages, when you can grab four Sesame Street releases off the shelf and find four different distributors between 2005-present. While watching the titular red monster and the bonus episode of the BBC Kids series Furchester Hotel, I wondered why has Sesame Street become a physical media hot potato?
Kids push their parents to buy any old thing and little kids get way more leeway with that. Honestly, it must be because the target audience is so young that you can run anything past them. My kid still has yet to realize that her favorite TV show went off the air in 2006. Tec was only for a handful of seasons, but she watches the re-runs like it is the only thing on TV. Kids are weird.
