GREASE 4K REVIEWED
“Grease” hits 4K looking rather amazing. The Dolby Vision 4K transfer makes whites pop in a way that I’ve yet to see in a 4K master. Hell, I’m just glad that this older film is actually getting a real 4K transfer. The special features are mainly legacy ports from the last Blu-ray release. But, let’s focus on the part of the release that matters. It’s an older film that serves as reference quality material. Your parents might actually upgrade to 4K.
They audiophiles will throw a fit over the audio track. But, TrueHD plays closer to the original audio mix than Atmos. I’d much rather have fewer audio channels than artificial bombardment during Beauty School Dropout. If you’re a still a youngling that hasn’t seen the film, let’s break it down. An older teenager from Australia meets up with her summer free bang. She may or not be dead based on the latest dump fan theory.
Still, John Travolta played pretty straight…laced. If that sounds interesting, then your parents or grandparents will feel the urge to explain the 50s to you. Then, you can listen to them explain why Grease matters more than keeping guns out of schools. Baby boomers are cool!
