ONE MILLION B.C. REVIEWED

“One Million B.C.” is the Hal Roach original that was a VHS bargain bin staple throughout most of the 1980s. Now, it’s getting the HD treatment via VCI. What about the film? Well, somewhere between star-crossed lovers and a killer volcano, Lon Chaney Jr. gets to portray a concerned tribal father. The more sensitive viewers will have issues with visible signs of animal abuse. Several lizards are toyed with and bothered to provide onscreen action.

Hell, the Hammer Films remake seems outright cautious in comparison. If you ever wanted to see the original film to compare, then pick it up. Younger fans might not enjoy the broad acting in the film. But, it’s only 80 minutes long. They can tough it out.
