STORMY MONDAY REVIEWED
“Stormy Monday” was Mike Figgis’ debut film and you could see what was coming next. The film plays like a Newcastle Film Noir where everything seems soaked in a deep blue. Tommy Lee Jones plays sleazy enough, but Sean Bean and Melanie Griffith are the better leads. While they pal around during the America Festival, they create a power duo that cuts their way across this seedy underbelly. The call girl and the hitman create this dynamic that has been missing in film for ages. The film ends the way you expect, so don’t be surprised.
