APOCALYPSE CHILD

APOCALYPSE CHILD REVIEWED

“Apocalypse Child” jumps a lot between Tagalog and English. Once I got past that, I got to see a quiet film about characters healing in an under-seen locale. After Dave Chappelle shared his views on The Philippines, I feel that we’re all good not having an American opine on the region for a bit. Still, this film is about the impact of American mythology on a people who don’t feel like they belong to that bigger dream. Given the nature of the film, you’ll marvel at its ability to dodge those larger issues/director’s names.

It feels like I’ve been tackling a ton of surfer movies recently. It’s just a coincidence and not Anderson finding a new hobby. Pick this one up and break out of your viewing habits. Candy Factory is releasing a ton of VOD movies recently that stack up to anything that the majors are releasing. So, I hope that you’re digging these bits of coverage.
