LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW REVIEWED

“Legends of Tomorrow” is a fascinating concept to bring together fringe DC TV characters into an exciting new team. Honestly, I love how much the show works. So many characters are personal favorites and each episode gets to sample the greatest corners of the DC Universe. We’re seeing a Wild West episode featuring Cinnamon and then time spent with Jonah Hex and the future Negative Woman. Hell, the Russian Firestorm from the late 1980s gets two full episodes. Elementary school aged Anderson would pass out from excitement.

Knowing what’s coming in Season 2, I’m stoked. Sure, the Time Masters and Vanishing Point dominated too much of the season 1 finale, but there’s nowhere to go but up. That being said, we need a shot at seeing what Rip Hunter can do. There’s a reason why he’s the supreme Time Lord of the DC Universe. We got a tinge of Hunter’s reputation during the Jonah Hex episode, but this series seems hellbent on knee-capping him. Let’s see what challenges the Legion of Doom can offer.

In terms of everyone else, the Hawk stuff is overly complicated. But, that’s been the way of the world for DC for ages. The Flash Rogues feel better suited for Flash. But, Firestorm, Atom and even White Canary make more sense here. This should be the scientific oddity show, not the network synergy power hour.
