Get ready to kick off your Sunday shoes as the iconic dance film “Footloose” celebrates its 40th anniversary. For the first time ever, the film that got an entire generation dancing is arriving in stunning 4K Ultra HD on February 13, 2024, courtesy of Paramount Home Entertainment.

Released originally on February 17, 1984, “Footloose” captivated audiences with its high-energy dancing, unforgettable soundtrack, and a heartwarming tale of rebellion and expression. Kevin Bacon delivered a career-defining performance as Ren McCormick, a city boy whose passion for music and dance brings a wave of change to a conservative small town.

Directed by Herbert Ross and penned by Dean Pitchford, “Footloose” not only was a box office hit, grossing $80 million domestically, but it also became a cultural phenomenon.

The 40th-anniversary edition of “Footloose” has been meticulously remastered and will be available as a two-disc 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray™ set or in a special collectible SteelBook™, creatively designed to resemble an 80s Walkman. Both editions include a digital copy of the film. The Blu-ray also comes packed with legacy bonus content, offering fans a deeper look into the making of this classic film. Special features include commentaries by Craig Zadan, Dean Pitchford, and Kevin Bacon, interviews, a Kevin Bacon screen test, costume montage, and two-part documentary “Footloose: A Modern Musical,” among others.
