Epic Pictures, the L.A.-based distribution and financing company, has announced the acquisition of Dick Dynamite: 1944, a thrilling and over-the-top action film that promises to bring all the blood, guts, and zombie-slaying action you can handle. Written and directed by Robbie “Steed” Davidson in his feature directorial debut, Dick Dynamite: 1944 stars Olli Bassi (known for Masters of the Air and The Road to Hell) as the titular Dick Dynamite. The film also features Adam Harper, Valerie Birss, Marrakesh Burdette, Shaun Davidson, Graham ‘Scottie’ Scott, and Dick Valentine (of Angel and Mission: Impossible fame), with multiple cameos from famous rock musicians.
Set in the dying days of World War II, Dick Dynamite: 1944 follows the titular hero and his ragtag team of Nazi-killing commandos as they embark on a mission to stop a group of depraved German scientists who are attempting to turn the population of New York into flesh-eating zombies. The film will have a limited theatrical release starting December 6th, followed by its VOD debut on December 10th.
Funded by a Kickstarter campaign, Dick Dynamite: 1944 blends creative, over-the-top kills with incredible stunt work and tongue-in-cheek grindhouse humor, offering a wild ride for horror and action fans alike. The only thing higher than the body count is the number of instantly quotable one-liners.
