After a 33-year hiatus, enigmatic Los Angeles troubadour Milo Binder is set to release his sophomore album, The Unspeakable Milo Binder, on August 9 via Heyday Again and Real Gone Music. This long-awaited album follows his acclaimed debut and is a must-listen for fans of John Prine, Loudon Wainwright, and Willis Alan Ramsey.
A Remarkable Comeback
Produced, arranged, and performed by multi-instrumentalist Willie Aron (Thee Holy Brothers, Balancing Act), the new album features contributions from bassist/guitarist Victor Krummenacher (Camper Van Beethoven, Monks of Doom, The Third Mind) and drummer Kevin Jarvis (Brian Wilson, Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, Iggy Pop, Donovan, Harry Dean Stanton, Steve Wynn).
Reflecting on his return, Milo Binder shares, “I just woke up one day and realized that nothing was stopping me anymore. Traumas had healed, my family was secure, and suddenly, songs started coming to me again.”

Binder is set to perform at various West Coast venues this summer, including:

The Journey of Milo Binder
Milo’s musical journey began as a song-obsessed kid influenced by the great singer-songwriters of his era. He made a name for himself in post-punk Los Angeles, garnering press coverage and critical acclaim for his 1991 self-titled debut album, which featured guest performances by Garth Hudson (The Band), Victoria Williams, and “Sneaky Pete” Kleinow (The Flying Burrito Brothers).
Despite the success, Binder’s career took an unexpected turn. After his label dropped him, his manager and best friend John Schillaci was killed in a car crash, and his first child was born with profound disabilities. These life-altering events led him to step away from the music scene for over three decades.
A Double Reboot
Now, 33 years later, both Milo Binder and Heyday Again (a reboot of Alias Records’ rival Heyday Records) are making a comeback. This collaboration is a perfect match, bringing together older, wiser, and more philosophical perspectives on music and life.
Binder’s return to music is a labor of love, akin to crafting an elaborate ship in a bottle. The Unspeakable Milo Binder is a testament to his enduring passion for songwriting and is sure to resonate with anyone who appreciates heartfelt, meticulously crafted music.
