THE PLOT THUS FAR
WHAT WE THOUGHT
“Tiny Trouble” is a compilation of two episodes of Wild Kratts. Termites, monkeys and even more bugs get to steal focus, as the gang tries to work some education into the mix. Aviva and Koki get shrunk down to deal with these bugs, they have no idea about the termite ranks. The Kratt Brothers explain how their society works, while the children have to worry if they’re going to be eaten or destroyed by these varmints. You’ve got to love potential child endangerment in cartoons.
Martin and Chris Kratt do their best with the material. That being said, they know their audience and they play to kids well. Martin gets shrunk down for the second episode and that deals with monkeys. It’s the same as the bug episode, but this time he’s learning about monkeys while being groomed by a simian. This one has a few more laughs, as it is a baby spider monkey that picks up Martin. No threat of death in that episode.
The DVD comes with coloring pages and activities as the special features. The A/V Quality is on par for a PBS cartoon series. Still, I wish we would get more of these releases in HD. But, I guess physical media is dying. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to the curious.
