WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO SOLANGE REVIEWED
“What Have You Done to Solange” has me asking one question. What is it with Camille Keaton movies and genital mutilation? The Ennio Morricone score is stunning, while rewatching the film creates something far more bizarre. Sure, the girls being targeted in the film are students at a Catholic College. They’re above age and typical for the standard Giallo film. It’s just that they keep getting stabbed in the junk.
I expect this from Fulci, but Massimo Dallamano was one of those talents that never got a stamp in the Giallo age. While Dallamano died about 4 years after this film, he kept up the weird fetishism of young women. Pair up this flick with “Annie” and see how violence makes that line straddling into something else. Kudos to Arrow for preparing this for a wider US release. Just be ready for the creep factor.
