Virgil Films to Launch Miles Doleac’s Captivating Musical-Comedy-Thriller “OPEN” this Fall

Virgil Films has successfully secured the North American rights for the much-anticipated musical-comedy-thriller, “OPEN.” Directed by Miles Doleac and written alongside his frequent collaborator, Lindsay Anne Williams, the movie is expected to enchant audiences this fall.

In this unique film, Doleac and Williams co-produce alongside Elena Sanchez to weave an engaging tale. “OPEN” narrates the story of a woman trapped in a tumultuous marriage who finds solace and attraction in a once-adored TV star, now fallen from grace. All this while she experiences empowering hallucinations of leading an 80’s new wave band. This extraordinary film features an ensemble cast including Jeremy London, Williams, Doleac, Sanchez, and William Forsythe.

Doleac expressed his excitement about the partnership with Virgil Films, praising their reputation for selectivity and dedication. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Virgil Films, who values our vision as much as we do. They’re committed to being genuine collaborators, which is paramount to us,” he said.

Elena Sanchez, co-producer and star of the movie, remarked on the exciting and wild nature of the project, “Being part of bringing Miles and Lindsay’s vision to life has been a remarkable experience. Working alongside William Forsythe was a career highlight. I look forward to working with the Virgil team on our film’s release.”

Joe Amodei, the President of Virgil Films, promised a unique experience for audiences, praising the freshness of Doleac’s creation. He stated, “This film will indeed offer a real treat. Its distinct and original character will leave fans immensely satisfied.”

An outstanding feature of “OPEN” is its musical numbers, a heartfelt tribute to the 80’s new wave music that Doleac grew up with. The film’s original songs were crafted by Doleac, Williams, composer Clifton Hyde, and Oliver Hofer. On the subject of music, Williams added, “Everyone wants to be a rockstar at some point. Our protagonist gets to live that dream in her mind while navigating her complicated personal life. Creating this from both a musical and story perspective was incredibly fun.”

Jeremy London, a star of the movie, likened it to “ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW,” praising its uniqueness and the appeal of its music. He added, “The songs are infectious. I can foresee audiences singing along.”

“OPEN” is set to release in November, gracing select theaters and digital platforms. Fans can look forward to the simultaneous release of the film’s soundtrack on limited edition vinyl.

This exciting acquisition was skillfully negotiated by Jeff Cooper from Cut Entertainment and Joe Amodei from Virgil Films.
